This book gave me a better perspective on doing welded sculpture than anything else I've read. The how-to for oxy-acetylene welding (used exclusively in this book) was good, though I was already familiar with it. Where the book really shined was the exercises (welding) the author has the reader do to prepare to create sculpture on his own. And also the discussions of organic form that allow one who has never had any artistic training to begin to represent living creatures in his/her sculpture. Coming from a technical and scientific background, I, for the first time, began to see how to create sculpture that could express the nature of a living thing moving.

Many pictures, however these sculpture are very time consuming, although many pictures are available for review keep in mind it's more for the professional metal artist.
This was purchased as a gift for my son. He is thoroughly enjoying it.
